On the 16th Anniversary of the ACA, advocates rallied across Illinois to defend coverage and warn against federal threats
- 24 million Americans – including 395,000 Illinoisans – rely on ACA marketplace coverage
- Enhanced tax credits expired; average premiums are projected to jump from $888 to $1,904/month nationally
- 4.8 million people nationwide could lose coverage due to rising costs
- 528,000 more Illinoisans could be uninsured by 2034; 70,000-90,000 at near-term risk as premiums spike 28.8%
- Impact hits every district – including Republican-held ones: 35,000 at risk in IL-12 (Bost), 31,000 in IL-15 (Miller), 26,000 in IL-16 (LaHood), 26,000 in IA-01 (Miller-Meeks)
